GIS-Pro 2020 has ended
Welcome to URISA’s GIS-Pro 2020 — A special virtual edition for challenging times.
We invite you to review the agenda, block your calendar, and join us virtually for URISA’s 58th Annual Conference. Our community has always been resilient and eager to help each other through a crisis. Be engaged. Ask questions. Explore solutions. Make the most of this opportunity. Be safe.

Workshops will be presented ’live’ on September 23 & 24 and after GIS-Pro on October 6 & 7. Attendance at one workshop is included with full registration.

Note that all times in this online agenda are presented in CENTRAL Time (URISA’s office is in Chicago).

You must be registered to access the online platform (which is not this Sched agenda).

GIS-Pro 2020 FAQs

1. Why is GIS-Pro going virtual? With the very serious COVID-19 health and social distancing concerns, hosting an in-person conference this year and putting members, presenters, and staff at risk was a non-starter. Yes, we will miss the face-to-face interaction, 'a-ha' moments, and camaraderie. But we'll do our best to recreate as much as possible virtually until we can meet again.

2. When will the virtual conference take place? The main event will take place Tuesday, September 29 through Friday, October 2. Pre- and post-conference workshops are scheduled the week before (September 23 & 24) and the following week (October 6 & 7).

3. What is the cost of the virtual conference? With budgets taking a hit during the pandemic, we've reduced the cost of conference registration considerably to allow more of the community to attend. You also won't have travel and lodging expenses. You may register to view the daily live keynote addresses at no cost. URISA member rates for full registration are $200 for regular professional members; $100 for young professionals; and $20 for students. Please contact us if you've recently been furloughed.

4. Are workshops still taking place? Yes. Just like the in-person GIS-Pro conference, full event registrants may select one full-day (6 hour) or one half-day (3 hour) workshop to attend. We're offering some the week before the main conference and some the week following the conference to fit your availability and schedule. Because interaction is key, attendance is limited for each workshop.

5. What kind of software will I need to participate in the virtual event?
An internet connection and a web browser.

6. Will the sessions be recorded?
Yes, and your registration fee will include an "on demand" feature, so you can access any session you choose from the conference proceedings during (and after) GIS-Pro, until September 2021. So if work, school, or family schedules don’t allow you to catch all the sessions you wish, you can go back and watch them later.

7. Will I still be able to interact with the presenters during the sessions?
Yes, the speakers will be available to answer questions during the sessions in which they are presenting.

8. Does the conference count for GISP points?
Yes. Just like at a 'live' URISA educational event, attendance counts toward Education Points for your GISP certification.

9. Will there be an exhibit hall?
Yes, there will be a virtual showcase to learn about the solutions and opportunities being offered by our partners. Learn about new products and services, interact one-on-one with representatives, check-in, and be eligible for prizes and deals!

10. How long will the virtual GIS-Pro be available after the event?  Materials and recordings will be available until September 2021 for registered attendees.
