Michael Smith is a GIS professional with 20 years of experience, predominantly in local government. During his tenure with the City of Alexandria, Michael directed and managed the strategic GIS implementations within the City's asset and work order management system (Cityworks), the 911 CAD system (TriTech), the permitting and land use system (Energov) and the custom developed Stormwater Utility system.  He leads a team of GIS Analysts whom are responsible for nearly 500 GIS data elements which support approximately 20 City departments and the public . Recently promoted into the role of IT Program Manager, Michael will take on new responsibilities of being the strategic leader of a new team of IT professionals in the area of enterprise applications.  Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Geography from West Virginia University.
